We wanted to put some of our thoughts into words so Di Lamb, one of our elders, put
it this way for us:-
The Church of Scotland believes in God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit and proclaims
Jesus Christ crucified, risen and glorified.
Our standards of belief are to be found in the Old and New Testament (the Bible)
and in the Church's historic Confession of Faith. For a brief summary of our beliefs,
it is useful to look at the Apostles' Creed, which is used by many churches in declaring
"I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth and in Jesus Christ
His only Son our Lord who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into
"The third day he rose again from the dead, he ascended into Heaven, and sitteth
on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge
the quick and the dead.
"I believe in the Holy Ghost; the Holy Catholic Church; the Communion of Saints;
the Forgiveness of Sins; the Resurrection of the Body; and the Life Everlasting."

The Apostles Creed
We believe the Bible message that Jesus Christ died for all people, to enable a
restored relationship with our loving Heavenly Father.
We believe that Jesus lived as our role model in kindness and compassion for all
people as well as in teaching and healing.
We believe that by His Spirit active today Jesus wants to enjoy our friendship, to
bless and lead all those who know they need help to be the best they can be in this
fractured world, and for eternal life.
We encourage you to take time to be
still and listen while here for the word of the Lord for you.
