Pastoral Care

As we are discovering, Pastoral Care is an extremely wide ranging subject and requires very careful consideration and planning in order that we minimise the risk of excluding the very people we are trying to include.

As we have moved forward in this project we have recognised the need to take in as much help as possible from those with significant experience in Pastoral Care.

These things having been said, we are deeply involved in creating a Pastoral Care team in the church and, to that end, we have taken input from people with experience, for example, in running foreign missionary organisations with their own very particular potential problems together with  a lady, who has recently been ordained as a Deaconess in the church in Edinburgh, whose passion is care, and also from those within our existing pastoral group in the church.

The structure and guiding thoughts are being put together now and in the near future training will be identified and put in place.

Of course, none of this means we value any the less the ‘good neighbour’ care and concern which so many have felt and valued from the church here in Kincraig.  Indeed, those who have received that care find themselves, in a little while, giving and that can only be healthy.

So, to cut a long story short Pastoral Care is something we take very seriously on all of it’s various levels and we are working hard right now to get the balance right to serve all those with whom we come in contact.
